How many toothpaste can come in a 20ft container for shipping?

Know your toothpaste before use / it is vital to choose a proper toothpaste

Open any newspaper you will find pages full of ads that talk about toothpaste and toothbrushes. Put on your TV set and perhaps the channel will be showing these advertisements. The company’s producing these daily use consumer items spend colossal amount of money on these ads. It is not surprising, because today 70% of world’s population use toothbrush and toothpaste daily. Imagine the market potential and monies generated. The glamour to grab a certain share of the market is easily understandable. The global market for this market is tremendous and any brand can be absorbed. It is a sort of goldmine and therefore many industrial houses just do not hesitate to diversify their production line and go for the production of toothpaste. In doing so market fair play is ignored and a huge sum of money is spent on advertisement. Everyone is trying to proclaim, “We are the best. Use the product and you will look beautiful”.

It is true clean white teeth enhances the beauty of the face and adds up to your smartness. But the health of the teeth and gums is also very important. Unfortunately it is ignored and emphasize is given to only beautiful face. Consumers are lured by the ads and they are carried away by the distortion of the fact. The fact is, almost 90% of the toothpaste brands in the market are in real sense cosmetic in nature and they use unnatural chemicals disregarding the health of the people. There are any numbers of such brands vying for consumer attention. For a while let us accept a fact that a moderate use of an inert chemical is essential to form base in the manufacturing process but remember, the use is supposed to be moderate. This does not happen. Chemicals that are used come in contact with the mucus membrane beneath the tongue.

It diffuses into the blood which is harmful. Through various consumers’ studies, it has been found that presence of fluoride and triclosan in the toothpaste are certainly harmful causing disorders and diseases. They have the potential to undermine the effectiveness of antibiotics and other life saving medicines. Most worrying aspect is children, who have tendency to swallow the part of the toothpaste. Due to swallowing of fluoride toothpaste bones become brittle and it leads to the disease called skeleton fluorosis. Unlike western countries we are not particular about painting warning on the carton of the toothpaste. To avoid these risks always read about the ingredients that are used in the toothpaste. Luckily for us some of the products use only medicinal herbs and barks in their preparations and they are based on Ayurved, an ancient science of medicine.

This is exactly what happens when European Union’s Scientific Committee disclosed its findings on Triclosan, a chemical used in toothpastes. The committee has pointed out that the Triclosan is harmful to health because it could be a stumbling block when antibiotics are used in case of disorders. Triclosan reduces the effectiveness and usefulness of antibiotics because it promotes vide spread bacterial resistance. Laboratories studies have shown Triclosan can trigger gene mutations in bacteria, enabling them to protect themselves against it. When this happens, the bacteria release proteins which transport this new found protection to other bacteria. This cross resistance has the potential to undermine the effectiveness of antibiotics and other life saving medicines.

Even the US Food and Drugs Administration have also found evidence that Triclosan is a hormone disrupter. Inspite of these bad reports, Triclosan is commonly used.

Now the people have become more health conscious. Before buying products, they pay attention to its source and they prefer natural ingredients. They want to go in for products which have less and less side-effects. That is why there is a great potential for Ayurvedic products. We must take advantage of the situation and support the system.
